GOP gloves are off!

WOW.

Fred fired the first shot. He went after Mitt, Huck and also Rudy in this extended version of last night's debate ad. (This version is 2mins, while CNN allowed only 30 seconds of airtime during last night's debate.)He's down in the polls, so I'm not too surprised by this ad. Though I am curious about one thing... my favorite, Ron Paul, and John McCain are both excluded... yet they're both ahead of Fred in various polls in different states... maybe there's more to come?

You'd better hold on to your seats though! With the millions being raised by Rudy and the hundreds of millions in Mitt's bank account... I think this campaign is just beginning.

And I can't help but wonder if people start taking shots at Ron Paul. It could be interesting. What would they say? "He's against the war!" Heck, that's not exactly a skeleton in his closet. And I think he's fairly representative of GOP primary voters on every other issue... so it'd be interesting to see if any of the other candidates try to "let people know more about him."

off-topic (well, sort of)

Someone emailed me this article today. Read about the traffic nightmare in Clinton.

Well, I don't agree with his ostrich style approach to national security, for one. Or trashing our financial system

Speak for yourself, Tim. I don;t think the rest of us would associate with the LaRochie conspiracy theory types Mr. Paul has attracted to his banner.

our financial system

yeah... I made to sweeping a statement in characterizing Iraq as "national security." They're definitely different.

And as for the financial system... true, too. He may or may not be in step with the GOP on this.

I often seem to forget about that. And I don't even know if I agree with him on it. I haven't studied central banking enough to agree or disagree.

So on both points... you're right.

I was thinking in terms of debate questions... abortion, guns, immigration, spending, taxes, etc.

From Wed's debate, I don't recall any questions on the candidates' views on the financial system (central banking, gold standard, etc.) I'd say the closest to that was Huckabee calling for the end to the IRS (though Paul did that several months ago). But even that is more a tax question, IMO.

Traffic Nightmare

Is this what we can expect in the NE? We're not talking about just the W/S mall, but what happens when the other 3 quadrants of the NE are developed. Cheshire will be a shopping destination. If Clinton Crossing backed up on 95, all the way to Branford, then in Cheshire it would probably backup to the Hamden. Maybe, Waterbury and Meriden.

It's not only black Friday, there are other big sale weekends.

The Thompson ad shows in graphic terms what a complete, 180-degree flip-flopper Romney is on issues. Romney makes John Kerry look like a man of convictions.

That's why Massachusetts Republicans, who know him best, are expected to vote for Giuliani in the Mass. primary.

Mitt is a huge flip-flopper. Giuliani has so many skeletons in his closet the Dems are going to have a field day with him in a general election. I think Huckabee will come up in the poles.

I get off Exit 3 from 691W everyday @ 5:15-5:30......the ramp is backed up onto 691 from time to time already....Rt10 is going to be more of a nightmare than it already is....I already stop to shop in other towns so i dont have to deal with Rt10 on some days. I personally think the extra traffic alone isnt worth the "estimated tax" Cheshire receives.

"estimated tax"

Estimated is right and the net will be negative so get ready to reach into you wallets and sit in traffic. Check the papers, condos are selling in Cheshire for under $200,000 and W/S is pricing theirs at $321,000? They priced them high to pump up the estimated gross tax to the town. When they actually build them they'll most likely be around $200,000 or less or be rentals. And, with a truer cost for education of 80 to 110 children, their goes your net.

We've been had.

KEEP RELIGION OUT OF POLITICS AND GOVERNMENT.

In the latest demonstration of what happens when one religious faith is also the government is the case of the Sudanese govt accusing the English teacher of crimes against Islam, and many are crying out for her execution.

So, everyone practice your faith and don't try to practice it on everyone else. We have a constitution and don't need to have it replaced by the Bible, the Koran or anything else.

Tell the candidates, we don't care that your religious and we don't want to know how many times you pray.

WHERE TO SHOP?

If you were thinking of buying a condo at the mall and you thought of where to go grocery shopping, you could go to the natural food store, if it is ever built, and pay twice the price for food or you can hop in the car and drive 4 miles to Stop and Shop in Maplecroft and while your in town you can visit your bank, eat at one of the many good restaurants, go to Marshalls, go to town hall and take care of any business there, go to the consignment store and all the other great stores that we already have.

You make an excellent point. Contact all of your local leaders and let them know how you feel.
