District 4 statistics

Here is a quick recap of the numbers for the 4th District Council seat:43 people "blanked" (cast no vote) my race this time.

In 2003, about 2000 out of 2100 people cast votes (100 blank votes). In 2005, about 2000 out of 2200 people cast votes (200 blank votes)... so blank votes were down this year in the 4th district Council race.

What's wrong with Vickie Nardello?

Why did she come out in support of your opponent? Why did she involve herself in a local election? Is she mad that you ran agaist her?

Tim,
I didn't know you kept track of the blanks too.
How do you feel about the blankety blanks?

It's just another statistic that I find interesting.

In 2003, 5% of voters didn't cast a vote for the 4th district seat.

In 2005, 10% didn't.

In 2007, 2% didn't.

I don't know why, but am curious.

W/S claims 11 additional students in their impact study. That's why they one of the reasons they claim such a large net tax to the town. This should make all their cost to the town highly suspect.

What do you think?

Can you believe P&Z didn't even raise an eyebrow and didn't ask one question about it.

At the last PZC meeting, I also pointed out that if current Cheshire residents move there, that could easily be an additional 100 houses that open up on the Cheshire market during the time in which they open the proposed residential units.

I understand that 141 houses are currently on the market in Cheshire. If that number doubled, does anyone know if it would have an impact on the sales price of other Cheshire houses?

W/S must really think we are stupid when they tell us that most of the people that will move to the mall apartments will be Cheshire empty nester. Ha. Ha, Ha, Ha ......

Why would empty nesters move from privately owned houses in nice neighborhoods to rental apartments in a mall, hotel atmosphere with lots of children.

Empty nesters do move from Cheshire to escape the high taxes, but they are able to find nice conds that offer quiet living in age restricted developments that offer many amenities.

Parents looking to get their kids in a good scholl system will be the renters. No money down, just a security deposite.

Well, Patty Harris will be continuing the FAKE P&Z hearings.
These aren't real hearings, they are shows put on by W/S and applauded by a number of the members. No deep questions or concerns over the validity of the information painted by W/S.

Why is it that W/S talks with town dept heads, police, fire, BOE, etc and tells P&Z what they think these people said. Why aren't the department heads testifying directly to the P&Z and being questioned. The only person that asks any decent questions is Tim Slocum, the rest either think they are there to be entertained or their purpose is to push the application along.

The people of Cheshire have been poorly served.

I doubt PFH will continue as PZC Chair. It'll probably be a Republican. But that's just a guess.

"The only person that asks any decent questions is Tim Slocum"

I'm sorry. I forgot Paul Ranando who was persistent about not alllowing residential in the zone change and who was beaten down by Harris, Coburn and Voelker. He and Tim voted against W/S and will be sorely missed.

Marty Coburn argues W/S's case better than W/S and Fazzone, Woody Just before he voted for it Dawson said he's a gambled all his life and why not on this. Why is Dawson on this board?. Sean Strollo said if we don't like it that we could always vote to reverse the decision, real depth.

Cobern is a complete tool. Why people take him seriously astounds me. Being pompous doesn't make you bright

Can some of these people be asked to resign for not doing the job that they were elected to do???? When will they ask the questions of the developer that were presented by numerous citizens at the previous meetings such as water, traffic, sewer, safety, environment, etc, etc, etc? When will the Town of Cheshire get their 65 days? This has been a one man show so far.
