Who might buy the naming rights?
Apparently, the naming rights to Cheshire's future turf field are up for sale to the highest bidder.
I wonder who might invest?
I can think of a few CT-based businesses that love shelling out cash for billboards up and down 91 and 95. Are those businesses eligible to buy the rights?

LUV it!
Somewhere I remember the Town could name the field because part of the money was from the state. Or it could be named but not because of large contribution. This issue may require further study. Hire a consultant.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the previous council approve a "naming" policy but also, when it came right down to naming something, the council would have to vote on it? When that policy was passed I remember invisioning ugly banners hung along the fence surrounding the field. Ughhh
Let's cross that bridge when we get there.
What would billboard rights on pool bubble be worth? It's almost like a projection screen. Could use an interior projector to change message every 30 seconds....
I would think that the TC or Board of Ed would OK all the things the turf commitee is planning before they let them go crazy with it. Renaming the field, brick walk ways....I hope Viagara comes up with the 250k....Viagara Field...home of the mighty Rams...at least the team will be "up" for all the games....
Breachway, I wish I could tell you that I knew what the turf sub-committee was up to but I can't. It's not even on the BOE radar screen and hasn't been on a BOE agenda since last Sept/Oct before the election.
We (BOE) have been focusing on the budget but when this process is over next week I will request that an update from the turf committee be put on a BOE agenda in May.
Thanks,
Tony
