Is he any relation...???
Enquiring minds definitely need to know.
Yes he is.
Yes he is.
Didn't he just pass the BAR last year?
How many Probate style cases has he handled since he was admitted to the Bar a little over a year ago.
Absolutely not qualified to be probate Judgw,
As a back-bench, freshman senator, Obama was more qualified to president than this guy is to be a judge. Or is he entitled?
Someone really needs to find this young man a job. There is no place for on the job trainning in this serious position.
Peter has been out of school for about year and works in a law office that specializes in INSURANCE!!! What makes him really think he has the experience to handle probate matters? God help us if he wins.
Bowman is for hope n change, hope n change,
hope n change, hope n change, hope n change,
hope n change, hope n change, hope n change,
hope n change, hope n change, hope n change.
There, now he's as qualified as Obama.
please, no more bowmans.
Lets hope the Cheshire Republican Delegates have enough common sense to nominate a candidate for Probate Judge with more experience than one year. Well, if they do vote for Peter it will at least out the CRTC members who are in a Bowman pocket.
Why don't we just choose a candidate who is a good person, the most qualified, has the most experience and will be there for us to do right when our family finds itself at the Probate Office?
Matt Jalowiec is another R candidate for probate judge. Tim posted him last week. Seems he's much more qualified than the young Mr. Bowman.
There's also a Dem from Southington running?
Any more candidates?
What is one more crook in politics? I would have to imagine that he is interested only in what he can gain from this position. Pete has no experiance and comes from a gang of crooks. Imagine your or your loved ones final wishes being carried out by a Bowman. They treat the living like shit, why would the dead be any different?
RE: (the Bowmans) "treat the living like sh-t, why would the dead be any different?"
Proposed new Fees on Estates,
Cheshire/ Southington Probate Court
Hon. Peter Bowman, Judge:
3% attorney's fees
6% State of Connecticut Estate tax
5% probabte judge's Student Loan repayment fee
5% probate judge's home refurbishing fee
5% probabte judge's campaign fee
6% hot water boiler no-bid surtax
There has to be a way to get the extra 70%.
Could add in:
a real estate listing denial tax
a real estate listing acceptance tax
a confirmation of heat tax
a chance of contamination tax
a Bio Plant tax
a Hines loss of customer tax
7:51, 9:00, 12:56: I am not a fan of those you refer to either, but these comments are a little misplaced. It is unfair to judge Mr. Peter Bowman by the same standards as others that you might be more familiar with. If you know him (PB) and have a beef, such issues are fair game when one decides to run for any office. Issues of/with other family members aren't really appropriate. That being said, you ARE commended for your sense of humor!
2:43, the apple usually doesn't fall too far from the tree.
But aside from that, someone just out of law school, with one year of legal practice and not in the area of probate, is probably not qualified to be a probate judge.
People. Wake up! 1 year out of law school with NO real probate experience. Has he even had to represent a client in probate court? Probably not since he works as a clerk in a law office specializing in INSURANCE! Who cares who his parents are or his family name. If we live in a community who solely cares for your pedigree than we are all screwed. I would hope that the people of Cheshire and Southington are smarter than that.

If you were a Boy Scout it would be going from Tenderfoot to Eagle
in one year. Or........if you were in the Armed Forces it would be from Private to a General in one year.
Southington and Cheshire deserve experience and truth in the office of the Probate Judge. I am not saying that Mr. Peter Bowman will not be a more experienced candidate for this office in 10 years. But for now.........let's go with the facts, not promises. We just had a bunch of those from both parties in Washington.
Enough already!
When in doubt about experience, go to jalowiec2010 and click on discussions.
It may not matter, but it appears Mr. Bowman has two years of legal experience.
re: 2 years? Not really.
PETER CHRISTOPHER BOWMAN
(Admitted:10/27/2008)
- CT Bar Admission
1 year, 1 1/2 years of Bowman experience. That's not what the issue is. Whatever the legal experience may be. Is it regarding legal issues with insurance claims, legal issues with property or personal injury?
The real question is: How much experience does he have regarding the Probate system and exactly what type of work, and how many cases has he handled regarding Probate. That's not to much to ask or is it?
Wow 2 years or 10? The day you get sworn in you have to be able to make a decision. He can't.
Not sure why everyone is bashing Peter. For pete's sake he's a Bowman? Aren't they Gods in this town. Do we really want to piss off the Bowman clan? They'll find a way to steal your house and have Sally sell it!
