Campaign Finance Reform

Well... they did finally do something! And while I haven't yet read up much on this, from what I've heard, it sounds like a good thing. Here's the Courant's take.

Here's mine: In today's Record Journal, 5/6, I read about the celebration of Cinco de Mayo at Dodd Middle School. While it's nice that the students celebrate this day, I find it a bit inappropriate that the principal took $200 out of the Student Activity Fee account to hire a mariachi band to play during lunch! Is this account just some type of "slush" fund for whatever they want to use it for? Curious to know what others think.
