Ron Paul "Trust" and Rick Perry's response

I imagine the Ron Paul / Rick Perry back'n'forth is all over the TV tonight. It started with Ron Paul's new ad:

Then proceeded with Rick Perry publishing a letter in which Ron Paul accused Ronald Reagan of being a big spender.

What I find most interesting about this -- other than the fact that my guy is in it to win it -- is that I'm thinking this is far from a traditional primary spat.

Generally-speaking, many members of each of the two parties dislike primaries because -- in part -- they fear the charges cast during a primary will be used against the nominee in the general election. But here's the thing...

If either Ron Paul or Rick Perry becomes the GOP nominee, I find it relatively unlikely that either of these charges would be used against them in the general.

Perry is on the wrong side of illegal aliens. He opposes strict border controls and supported lower tuition for illegals in Texas.

I don't know whom I'll vote for yet, but it won't be Perry or Bachmann. She wears her evangelical religious zeal on her sleeve (and her church says the pope is the anti-Christ).

Republicans need to choose someone who can actually WIN the White House!

Obama will lose to any nominee of the Republican party. He's toast by his own making. Four more years of blaming Bush has soured on many of the most ardant liberal. He's lost the independants, who should be ashamed of themselves for voting to "make history", in the first place along with the other guilt ridden folks who sold out our country's economic and geo-political vitality for some nonsensical notion dubbed hope and change.

ArdEnt liberal here - you do not know what you are talking about.

Voted for President Barack Obama - gee that really p.o. you republicans, doesn't it? - because he was the best man running for the job of President. Hillary was a good choice, too, and frankly I would have been happy with either of them.

Economic and geo-political vitality - during GWB's admin? WHO ARE YOU KIDDING?

Huntsman would be the only one likely to appeal to the middle, bit he's too sane (and Mormon)for the Repub-zealots.

ANd, BTW, the only guilt was a misguided vote (first time voter) for Reagan, and a throw away vote on Nader. Won't be making THAT mistake again. Meanwhile, it's so fun to watch the Republicans eat their own. Pass the popcorn.

Sorry to run, but have to GOTV for President Obama's re-election.

Geraldine Ferraro was right. Guilty white liberals voted for Obama so they could feel good about themselves. “If Obama was just another white, backbench, freshman senator, he would never be elected” (Ferraro). Now Obama is in way over his head. We should have listened to Geraldine and nominated Hillary!

You're clearly a nitwit. Go ahead and vote for the community disorganizer...sorry but the USA I live in isn't going to be European style socialistic republic.

And yes you are infinately wiser than me. Wow you found a spelling error. Must be a member of the liberal elite...that crack group of thinkers who clearly lack the smarts to know when the gig is up for the liberals and their utopian agendas. Just put on your redshirts and join the communist party. It worked out so well for the Soviet Union.
And thanks for the old playbook on Bush. I'd like to see how global warming Al Gore would have handled that crisis.
Thank God we will never know. Opps...I mentioned God. Sorry.

Well 11:01, you'll either be living in a more European style socialist democracy, or you TeaTHUGlicans will have "won" and the USA will be a Christofascist theocracy on the surface and a corporate oligarchy behind the scenes. And you, lil' buddy aren't likely to be on the inside.

For the record- Bachman is Lutheran and we Lutherans don't believe the pope is the anti-Christ. We just don't worship him nor hold him in any way divine. Ron Paul is also a Lutheran, FYI.

Lutherans are a mainstream church that have existed since the 1500s and were begun by an excommunicated Catholic monk named Martin Luther.

Perry on Illegal aliens...first of all, the key word here is "illegal".

Bachmann..a distraction to Ron Paul supporters.

Obama...it will be interestng to see if our votes count and whether he gets elected a 2nd term like Bush did.

Hilary...go back and read her work at Harvard to see how socialist she really is.

Republican vs. Democrat
....different means to the same end

Ron Paul..I'm voting for him even if 'people' say he can't win, and even if I have to write him in.

Obama blames Bush.
Bush blames Clinton.
Clinton blames the first Bush.

Leaders are supposed to take what they get, and work with it. There will always be someone before them, will there not?

If they can't improve upon their predecessors then they aren't very well leading. The moment they take office, and take that oath, they are responsible.

Get a job

Michele Bachmann is NOT a mainstream Lutheran like the nice Lutherans we know in Cheshire. She's a member of a fringe, splinter faction calling itself the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). And their website says “We identify the anti-Christ as the papacy. This is an historical judgment based on Scripture." Google it all up, it's there.

I do not my Republican party to nominate such a fringe candidate, even if she is right on taxes and spending.
