Ordinance Review update
I guess there was some confusion in Town Hall about Tuesday's ORC meeting. Regardless, here's an update on tomorrow's ORC meeting... and please note, this is not a meeting of the full Council:
ORDINANCE REVIEW COMMITTEE MEETING; 7:30 P.M., TUESDAY, OCTOBER 16, 2007 ROOM 207, TOWN HALL, 84 SOUTH MAIN STREET, CHESHIRE, CT
AGENDA:
1. Roll Call.
2. Pledge of Allegiance.
3. Discussion and action re: volunteer firefighters’ pension ordinance amendments.
4. Discussion re: review of procedures for maintaining Commissions List document and terms of appointed officials.
5. Discussion re: updating and maintenance of Code of Ordinances and amendments.
6. Discussion re: required attachments to Town Council minutes.
7. Discussion and action re: Code of Ordinances book fee increase.
8. Discussion re: role of Town Historian.
9. Adjournment.

Matt Hall and E. Estey must be pretty proud of their top accomplishments.
1.They led the charge to get W/S everthing they asked the council approved.
2. Got the taxpayers to pay for the tunnel emergency work on which W/S wants to build a mall.
3. Pushed the Stratmore dam on the taxpayers.
Items 1 and 3 will be prime candidates for election to Cheshire's WDTDT, "Why Did They Do That" hall of fame.
Congratulations to the Cheshire High School girls swim team.
Monday night they set a national record with their 235th consecutive victory. Their last loss was in 1986. I bet most of you were talking about the same crap twenty-one years ago.
Now you “adults” can go back to your silly, immature, and petty politics. You all make Cheshire proud, and keep up the good work!
9:32, don't be so self-righteous. Politics and debating issues is part of self-governance. I think it was Churchill who said democracy is messy, but every other system is worse.
Churchill also said: "I have been brought up and trained to have the utmost contempt for people who get drunk."
Churchill played up his reputation as a heavy drinker for self-effacing humor. There is not one instance recorded of when he was not in full control of his faculties.
Churchill's exact quote was, "Democracy is the worst form of government, except for all those other forms that have been tried from time to time." (from a House of Commons speech: Nov. 11, 1947).
I agree with 10:36: democracy is messy, but it's the only form of self-governance we have. Still, it could stand to be elevated and focused more on issues and less on blind partisanship.
Matt Altieri of the Cheshire Town Council is the person writing all types of nasty comments about everyone. He is the caveman--It is an appropriate title because he looks like one.
Is he someone that should be on the town council? No. Stop ragging on people Altieri or the next two months on the town council will be your last two. No one wants you on the town council when you use it to bully people. You are found out.

So it’s Matt Alteri who’s been posting all that inane, nasty stuff on these pages for the last year.
Like all the stupid poems, his boasting about tearing down signs, and his defense of the Fritzes and contractors in the I-84 scandals.
Like his name-calling (he started the “caveman” stuff), his brushing off seniors as “old timers”, and his always accusing those who disagree with him of being “bitter and angry”. And on and on.
It makes sense that it’s Alteri because (1) these are all his political positions, and (2) he’s the least bright Council member; he’s the most apt to resort to clichés and name-calling rather than substantively discuss issues.
He’s the most bitter and angry one, and the most childish, on these pages.
yup, it's him. this is all the same lingo he uses at work when he talks politics, even when we don't want to hear it.
If there are council people using this board to attack residents or other council persons, they don't deserve to be on the council. This type of behavior is tolerated as long as they reflect the thinking of the majority.
I voted for Matt Alteri last time, but not this time. A public official should say what he means and mean what he says, not snipe at groups in the town behind the cowardly cover of anonymous postings. Besides, he hasn’t really done anything on the council.

Notice how he stopped spamming his rude comments on Monday, Oct. 15, when he was named for the first time on the other thread.

You can’t be serious. Comparing anything Altieri has done to Saddam is a new low in Cheshire politics. If this is the type garbage the Republicans will use to win the election God help all of us.
By the way, unless the Republicans have proof that Altieri is so evil these comments should be removed. Or, the accusers should at least identify themselves.
