With the subprime home lending situation (WRA), someone told me today that companies are starting to revise down their 2008 sales estimates for durable goods... washer/dryers, refrigerators, etc..
The campaign season has definitely kicked off. I saw Tim Slocum, Tali Maidelis and Gerry Brittingham greeting customers at Stop n Shop this morning. I also saw Cindy Kleist waving to passers-by from the corner of Lanyon and Route 10.
AT&Ts new competition for Cox, U-Verse (WRA), is also swinging into gear. I saw an AT&T lineman on my street, Bradford Drive, this afternoon. He told me that they expect to have their TV and internet services up'n'running in my neighborhood within a couple months.
And the Senate investigation into Lou DeLuca continues (NHR, by Greg Hladky).

Man tim you republicans must feel surronded
I saw democrats all day in my neighborhood in the south end
Then i saw them at everybodys
then I saw them putting up more signs
and in the herald
they even have a sign on their HQ
when are you guys gonna get going?
Yes tim in my neighborhood it seems like all I see are democrats and democrats
I have not seen anyone else
I guess I can vote for them now as it seems like all you guys want to do is talk about how bad the north end it
see ya later
Not true the Republicans are working much harder, I they came to my house, no Dems.
Ya I had the same experience the Rep candidates came by and all they talked about was the north end but they have no answers no solutions
I want to hear muc h more than that
goodbye rep hello dems
The caveMAn is spamming again: the 1st, 2nd, & 4th entries above are pretty obviously by the same no-substance partisan spammer.
Must be a Hall or Esty clone.
good gosh tim I think you are outnumbered
I am an unaff voter who likes the dem platform
they did a great job
low taxes and great services
no reason to change
we don't need any negativity so lets keep it going
go dems
These dems are done, they are giving away the town, soon they will start selling off the open space!

The caveMAn is their clone, but not half as bright as either. That's why he spams rhetoric rather than discuss substantive issues.
wow look at the dem slate
they look young and vib and alive
they are the bomb
Those old men on the Rep side look like the retirement community in Arizona and Florida
The rep look like the boyfriends of the golden girls
Who are these new people running on the Dem ticket? They have not said a word. What is their position on anything. When are they going to start talking?
They many look like the "BOMB". What happens to a bomb?
Lou,
Do you seriously expect anyone to vote for you with all of your bizarre comments?
It is hard to believe that the Republican Party in Cheshire chose you and turned down Cindy Kleist.
Cindy Kleist is this the best the Republicans canput forth.

Talk is cheap the dems can stand on there record over the last 2 years.
Responsible spending growth
Tax increases much lower than inflation
Senior tax relief & freeze for low income seniors
Schools well funded
Leadership that does not belittle those they do not agree with
Built rain day fund when a quick one time tax reduction of less than $100 per house hold is what the republicans want. One day all of Cheshire will be happy we have a large rainy day fund
The question is what of importance would the republicans have done differently over the past 2 years.
I believe the Dems have done more in the past 2 years than both Dem and Republicans councils did in the last 20 years
