Congressman Chris Murphy for Governor?

I'm not sure if I've mentioned it, but there's a great new website about all-things-CT-politics:

CT Capitol Report

That's where I noticed a piece by The Day's Ted Mann speculating on Chris Murphy running for Governor. Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised to see him jump and run for the open seat. Consider his history:

1997 to 1998 - Southington Planning & Zoning
1998 to 2002 - State Representative
2002 to 2006 - State Senator
2006 to present - Congressman

He obviously likes a new challenge. And he's got the fire in the belly. And there certainly seems to be something of a growing anti-incumbent sentiment toward Washington. So Chris may not want to run as the incumbent Congressman next year.

But on the flip side, he'd have to have some serious doubts about winning a Dem primary with both Susie B and Ned in the mix.

Chris Murphy doesn't stay in one job or one town long enough for his record to come back and bite him. So, yeah, based on his pattern he might run for Governor.

But what would his agenda be? Will he e-mail Nancy Pelosi every morning looking for guidance?

The answer to CT's sluggish economy is not more socialist snake oil from DC

Murphy being governor would be one way to get him to do something for this state. He has not done anything else to benefit CT
