Live from Haiti... Cheshire Election Results 2010

The MRJ is reporting that Matt Jalowiec defeated Matt Hall for Judge of Probate... yes! Congratulations go out to the Honorable Judge Jalowiec elect!!!

And congratulations to Joe Markley! The MRJ is also reporting he won. So that's the two open "local" seats both being won by Rs.

And the last bit of info that I got tonight... apparently the track lost 2 to 1. As I've been mentioning for a while now, I'm not at all surprised that it went down. People are tired of spending and the track simply isn't a necessary expenditure at this time.

But the question in my mind that relates directly to the track... what happens with the turf? Seems to me that people are tired of spending. And the voters know that the spending today means spending tomorrow. And it's yet another example of Alan Sobol demonstrating that's he more attuned to taxpayer concerns than any other board member.

    Chris Murphy narrowly re-elected.
And as of this hour, Foley maintains slight lead in Gov's race.

  4. Although the track needs repair, I feel the no vote was aimed at the turf people. They tried to tie that in to the turf.

    All others passed!

Not tooo bad, but your right about it needs some fixing and it doesn't look like it needs that much.

Find out for yourself, don't just read what the promoters tell you, go and see it. The track looks good and has some cracks that can be filled. Replacement is not needed.

I would say that it would be a good idea to have the cracks filled before they develop into something larger.

  6. Saw the PJ results... MJ got 58%... that's a HUGE victory. Congrats again to him... his race was crazy, but he stayed focused and on message.

  7. Also Kathy Brown did well, 47-53%, as Vickie Nardello continues to hold the 89th seat by the thinest of margins.

  11. Nardello squeaked back in 53 to 47%, and she lost Prospect, her own home town.

Nardello had greater resources and seniority and she barely won, against Brown's first run for office.
Had Tim White run this year, he probably would have won. Nardello's days in Hartford are numbered.
