Not only is Probate Judge Ray Voelker retiring... but Connecticut's Probate Court System is undergoing some serious changes. So there's a lot happening with Cheshire's probate court. More specifically, Cheshire will no longer be part of a Cheshire / Prospect court. Instead, we'll be part of a Cheshire / Southington court.
At the time of these changes, Cheshire resident Matt Jalowiec is running for Probate Judge. Here is Matt in his own words:

ReplyDeleteI agree I think that someone who is experienced is what is needed for this position. Being a Probate Judge is no small matter.
ReplyDeleteAfter having to go through the probate system after the death of my father, I strongly believe that this town needs someone with rich probate experience. Navigating the probate system is very difficult. Having someone who has a long history and proven track record of experience in probate matters is very important and essential to knowing that you are putting your families affairs in the hands of someone who knows what they're doing.
ReplyDeleteExperience. Experience. Experience. Can't imagine what it'd be like to have to go in front of a Probate Judge without it. Still can't believe that a Probate Judge doesn't even have to be lawyer in CT. Thank God the state is changing the law effective 2011. But why wait? We should elect an experienced Probate lawyer now.

That's why it is so good to hear that Matt Jalowiec has the experience needed for the job. We don't need the usual politician type running. We need somebody who actually knows the law and will act accordingly. Finally some real "hope" for the future at least locally. Good luck, you have my vote.
